  • Information Technology (9th Grade)

    Subject Code: 145005
    This first course in the IT career field is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of computer concepts and essential skills necessary for work and communication in today's society. Students will learn safety, security, and ethical issues in computing and social networking. Students will also learn about input/output systems, computer hardware and operating systems, and office applications.

    Design Techniques (10th Grade)

    Subject Code: 145095

    Students will learn techniques for transforming photographic images, through use of digital cameras, computers, and mobile devices. To accomplish this, they will learn software photo editing techniques including layering, color correction, masking, and special effects using current commercial and open source programs and applications.

    Creating and Editing Digital Images (11th Grade)

    Subject Code: 145100

    Students will learn to design, develop, and produce interactive media projects, web sites, and social media contexts. Students will demonstrate methods of creating professional quality media using commercial and open source software.

    Multimedia and Image Management (12th Grade)

    Subject Code: 145105

    Students will apply principles of image creation, management procedures, and multimedia techniques as they create, revise, optimize, and export graphics for video, print, and web publishing. The course will address issues related to web based publishing, social media, and security. Students will utilize current commercial and open source languages, programs, and applications. on

  • Students in the Interactive Media pathway at AkroTech have the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school through Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAG) and Career-Technical Credit Transfer (CT²) programs. These state-recognized initiatives help students transition seamlessly from high school career-tech programs to college-level coursework—saving time and money on higher education.

    What is CTAG?

    The Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAG) program allows students who complete approved high school career-technical education (CTE) courses to receive guaranteed college credit at participating Ohio colleges and universities. This means students can start their college journey with a head start on their degree, reducing the number of courses they need to take.

    What is CT²?

    The Career-Technical Credit Transfer (CT²) initiative ensures that students who successfully complete high school career-tech programs can transfer their skills and credentials to post-secondary institutions. Through CT², students can apply their knowledge directly toward an associate or bachelor's degree in digital media, graphic design, web development, animation, and related fields.

    How to Earn College Credit

    Students in the Interactive Media pathway can earn college credit through the following steps:

    Complete an Approved Career-Tech Course
    Students must successfully complete specific Interactive Media courses aligned with CTAG/CT² requirements.

    Pass the End-of-Course Assessments
    Some credits require students to demonstrate proficiency through standardized assessments or industry certifications.


    Apply for Credit at a Participating College or University
    After meeting the program requirements, students can transfer their earned credits to an eligible Ohio college, university, or technical school.
